Physical Attributes
James is 5’ 9’’ and he is very slim. He has blue eyes and what seems to be bleached-blond short hair.
Although it may seem that he dyes the this is his natural hair colour. He has also very characteristic jawline and cheekbones. This makes his face seem a little rough sometimes, especially when his eyebrows are frowned.
Usually his dresses almost like teenagers. He likes to wear shirts or undershirts. At spring and autumn he wears a leather coat. On winter, though, he wears something warmer.
History:
James is a son of Kathleen and Andre Mayfair. His father came from France, but Kathleen was English. Both were pureblood, but not rich. They were a quiet, normal family.
During the first war with Voldemort his father was a coursebreaker at Gringotts and his mother was a healer in St. Mungo. James grew up in atmosphere of love and tolerance.
As a child he was very unpredictable but in a good way. Young Mayfair was very active and talkative kid. Andre used to say that he will keep talking unless you give him a cookie or something else.
In Hogwarts James was sorted to Ravenclaw with Gabriel de Havilland. At the beginning boys are close friends, but it changed when they were about 14-15 years old. Gabriel’s ambition was too high for James, who was thinking that it’s not good for his friend. James always tried to be equal with de Havilland, but future dark wizard was too smart for him. They argued a lot and finally at 6th year they broke their ties and became rivals and in the future – enemies.
In school he was very good at Transmutation and everybody knew that professor McGonagall was very proud of him, but she never showed it. She supported him in his private researches and believed that he will achieve a huge success. In spite of his incontrovertible talent he never became an animagus.
During his education at Hogwarts he met his future wife, Patricia. They got married when they graduated and after a few years of marriage she gave birth their son, David. Three years later James and Patricia had divorced, because she couldn’t stand that her husband was still out of their live and he didn’t care about family. James thought that she was right hence he didn’t fight for his marriage. Patricia and little David went abroad, but when the war had finished she returned to England and let James visit his son in every weekend or even more. They are still best friends and take care after their child.
When the Dark Lord returned, professor McGonagall asked him to join to the Order of the Phoenix. He agreed and became a mole among the Death Eaters. He had to quickly change his predispositions from transmutation to defence against the dark magic. His new mentors became Kingsley Shacklebolt and Alastor “Mad Eye” Moody.
After Dumbledore’s death he had supported his old transfiguration mistress in leading the Order and he worked for Severus Snape while he was a Headmaster of Hogwarts. When the war finished he took place as a Defence of the Dark Magic teacher and was supporting Minerva when she was the Headmistress, but she quickly quitted and made a very strange thing: she signed James Mayfair as the next Headmaster.
During the war he knew many of Death Eaters including Gabriel. He rated to Ministry many of them, but he wasn’t able to send Gabriel to the Azkaban. He had no proof against him and Ministry had to let him go, but James didn’t forget about de Havilland’s guilt.
Personality:
James is a very easy-going person, who never gives up. He tries to be close to his co-workers and students. Despite that he has more than 700 students he tries to call each student by name or sometimes by nickname, which is very controversial.
He likes parties and having fun, but he never loses control on his behaviour. James is responsible or seemes to be responsible enough to lead the school.
David means for him more than everything. James loves his son from all his heart and tries to be a good father for him.
Usually he goes to school by train with students, but from time to time he goes by a motorcycle which he got from his old friend from school.
He secretly smokes cigarettes. Nobody in school will see him with them, but his office sometimes smells like a cigarette smoke.
